Default Continental, any ideas?

Hello all.

I'm from Houston, and I have wanted to work for Continental since I was 10 years old. I currently meet their mins, but I have 0 PIC turbine. I have some part 121 experience in a turboprop (right seat) and I am currently flying in a C402 part 135, and I have a four year aviation degree.

I guess my question is, how likely am I to get an called for an interview without having an internal recommendation? Thanks.

Err. Why don't you just apply to Continental Express (Expressjet). Seems like a no-brainer to me. 500/100 are the mins. If you have part 121/135 experience its a plus. Apply online www.expressjet.com They're hiring 16-32per month thru the end of the year. Get your turbine time and apply to Mainline Continental.

Oh...to answer your original question, I would say you have zero chance of being called for Continental mainline if you don't meet the minimum requirements.

Good Luck

Even with an internal recommendation... not a prayer. Aim for the commuters until you get some time.

I had 6000 PIC jet before Continental hired me.
Also a Master's degree.

Get out there and fly turbine as PIC any way you can.

Good Luck.

Houston is also a senior base, so if you got hired you'd end up in Guam or Newark.
