With all due repect, AA already had 100 seat jets
If an order were to be placed for them AA pilots would fly them, however this has not and will not change AMR's agenda of pushing for further relaxation of our SCOPE, or trying to bargain for something we already own. AA |

You and your friend got to stop smoking that stuff.
AE is going to shrink, and first the 135's will disappear. They will be brining the CRJ700 this year to the North East. About 6, the seat makeup on the 700 would equal to 2 135's. So I would be looking for some parking the end of the year and furloughs. And I trying to be polite to something either you or your friend said, which was real stupid, 1000 new hires at AE. You do understand that that equals to about 111 new aircraft. Before you start bashing this guy's post, realize yourself that there are 600 pilots at eagle who have contractually bound themselves to flowing through. AA, ALPA and Eagle management are meeting right now to finalize language that will govern whether or not each pilot must leave Eagle via hardship application. ALPA and Eagle Management have stressed that they are favoring "up or out" for "flow through" pilots who do not qualify for a hardship. AA is the carrier shrinking "unfortunatley" on March 1.. The first of the new CRJ's are being delivered in a few months New rest rules which concern crews regularly flying 14 hour days with 8.5 hr overnights and 90 hours a month will create vacancies. Internal email has created numerous vacancies for HR pilots to conduct interviews for at least 6 months. When eagle hired from 2004-2007, they were capable of 50 per month. You may not see 1000 new hires, but understand that Eagle doesn't need 111 more aircraft to do it. Should they not park any aircraft and all other stars align, they will be short by at least 750 over the next 3 years, and more should Majors start hiring. |

They are welcome to fly the RJ, but I heard that checkride's a B****
Quite a few mainliners and T-6ers had some trouble, just as many CFII's with 1000 hrs had. Pay commensurate with experience brother. AA By the way, one of the Flow Ups, was in 767 school years ago with me. Yes sometimes we pair two FOs together. He had thousands of hours and failed his 767 ride. Things happen, and people have bad days. I did not think any less of him as a pilot. Hopefully you didn't and don't think any less of ALL the mainliners that couldn't hack the RJ program. |

Well, when any pilot is new to any aircraft there is an initial learning curve, and helps to have a seasoned FO. Last year I flew with a few new Captains on the 767. I really did not think I was babysitting, but more mentoring.
I am sure that is probably what you meant. AA Yes, mentoring is a better word for it, didn't mean any disrespect... |

Yes AE has 22 more CRJ's coming, for a total of 72 70 seater's. |

I would like to see that. Forcing anyone over to AA sounds brutal. I was under the impression that AE wanted the flow to happen, whether anyone wanted to stay or not. To me,either way. They can stay or they can flow. That coming from someone on the bottom of AA's list and soon to be the bottom of AE's list. I hate to see more furloughs because of mngmt. manipulation.
Are you furloughed AA coming in as a newhire at AE? My condolences, seriously. I do hope things work out as well as possible for you at Eagle, welcome aboard. |

You can make fun of APA all day long about their contract proposals asking for a 50% pay increase, lower monthly max, etc, etc. But I'll tell you this: every AAL pilot will defend scope to the bitter end.

Do you really think AMR is chomping at the bit to replace Eagle with Colgan? If anything, I think the opposite. We can only hope and pray that the ground workers or FA's don't cause AMR to file Chapter 11 because it won't be pretty for us. Quit being such a ninny. 4 majors went thru ch11 and no one, not one lost the 100 seat flying. Yes some more 70-76 seaters were crammed down our throats but are capped. At least at DAl. The junior guys at AA and the future new hires are going to have a wild ride very soon. As long as y'all don't puss out, when the retirment plug is pulled y'all will see some rapid movement. You can kiss the 100 seat jet away and any chance capturing the flying back through a merged list.
