A buddy at Eagle just emailed me that ALPA and Eagle management have reached an agreement to move their most senior pilots to AA to allow cheaper pilots and more new hires to cut costs. The only way the pilots can't leave is through a tough hardship application process, so about 600 of them will be pushed out of their seats and over to American. It's a big win for those who are looking for upgrades or a flying job.

Expect at least a 1000 new hires at Eagle over the next two years. It may be another 8 to 12 months before most of the top pilots are moved over to AA, but be patient. The jobs are coming for those who want to go to Eagle.

Hi!
Mil is NOT like the airlines. Pay is by rank/yrs of service. Pilots get more but doean't matter if you're Aircraft Commander or copilot for pay.

If you were a regional capt, and went mil, you would probably do a LOT bettyer than a mil street guy, ESPECIALLY after UPT, in your aircraft transition training. Once u got 2 your unit, if u were doing great, you could potentially upgrade in 12 months or so and bypass a lot of Copilots who were "Senior" to you to Capt upgrade. The more guys leaving the mil unit, the quicker the upgrade.

If he's referring to the latest news on the flow thru pilots and forcing them over to AA, then he'd be half right. Expect 500 pilots to be kicked out of Eagle to AA later this year. 244 might go right away depending on an arbitration outcome later this month.

You must be one of those yahoos. The losers jabbering away about "80s for 80" were the guys that did not and would not get hired at a major. So in turn had a large chip against mainline pilots (the ones who made the cut) and scope. Like it or not the mainlines own scope..You work for a subcontractor who can easily be replaced. The regional employees are at the mercy of the mainline pilots they subcontract for. It is what it is. For the young guys at the regionals I suggest not listening to the Don Quiotes you fly with. There is a reason they are still there.

LOL, you do realize that those yahoos were just responding to the AA yahoo's that were saying something equally stupid? I have always thought it borderline psychotic that guys would go around staring down Eagle guys or staring away when they see one because somehow they thought those guys are the ones making decisions on scope. We have only ourselves to blame for all the years on not wanting to fly the little stuff.

If you are talking to me, you are wrong. Given your temperment and lack of sensibilitly I hope to God you are not an airline pilot.

Interesting, and would probably be smart from a mgmt standpoint. Has too many scope provision problems though. The contract carrier taking over hub flying at Eagle grievance would be extremely relevant here (and that's assuming you could get the APA to sign off on Q400s w/ significantly more seats than the ATRs). Who knows when that grievance will be resolved.

Actually not if they plan for 2013, and APA is okay with it. Since AE does not own any ATR's they are carrying the pilots. MGT could spin Executive off Furlough the pilots, LYNX aircraft and pilots do the flying and AE saves the Executive certificate. This could happen. Since now AE MEC is in the back pocket of mgt. Start small work your way to bigger things.

You and your friend got to stop smoking that stuff.
AE is going to shrink, and first the 135's will disappear.
They will be brining the CRJ700 this year to the North East.
About 6, the seat makeup on the 700 would equal to 2 135's.
So I would be looking for some parking the end of the year and furloughs.
And I trying to be polite to something either you or your friend said, which was real stupid, 1000 new hires at AE. You do understand that that equals to about 111 new aircraft.

There are some pretty crazy ideas on this thread. Here's what I think.... All of you are on crack. I suggest you walk down to the MEC office and get set up with some rehab.
