Cost is $250 for a crashpad anywhere in the USA. Covering the 3 airports? Your responsible for being within 2 hours of one of them. It will be a 2 leg commute from TUS.

In Cincy, hotels with DAL contracts are as low as $35 a night and after 9 stays your 10th is free.

Thanks, it does. Just picked up Parallels 5. Of course, I also had to pay $200 for for Windows 7. I don't have log-in onfo for the dalpa forum. Not sure when we will get briefed by alpa in training.

What things should one look/ask for when deciding on a crashpad? I've heard that there's a bulletin board at the training center. Is that as good a place as any to find one?

Definitely $250 in the NYC area, but you can get them cheaper in DTW/MSP. I've seen $150-$180 for houses with your own bed.

Don't some of M&M's homies have houses for rent on 8 mile? Probably get a cheap one there for $100/month and you can have the WHOLE house. :D:eek:

I believe it's LAX, ONT, SNA, BUR, & LGB. It's a small senior base that's most likely unattainable to a newhire. But you never know. :)
Parking of 20+ 757s in the dessert, and putting the 75ER on the LAX & SFO transcons did the rest... Many 07-08 NHs went straight to LAX... (For the record, doing 6+hr transcons in an 800 really is pushing it and the BE seats in the exTWA birds are a much better product) That said, unless you live in SoCal, reserve in LAX is bad, because of the three airports and the general lack of public transportation options. (Not that there aren't any at all...) NYC by comparison is set-up to be negotiated sans car and the NY airports are geographically much closer to each other... Cheers George |

When you are at the training center, you will be on virginia ave in the ATL. There is an establishment of fine dining on that street called the barbecue kitchen. In front of the BBQ Kitchen, there is a graveyard, on the backside there is a hotel that is flanked by a street that runs parallel to virginia ave. Half or more of the houses on the first block of that street are crashpads. If I were you, I would check a couple of those out, they are average to above average for what you can expect for crashpads in this new adventure job of yours. The first thing you need to do is grab a former commuter pilot in your class and have him help you put a bid in for something other than NYC. Shorter commutes on mainline jets are where you want to be based. You dont want multiple leg commutes. |

I'm guessing a room in his place goes for more then $250 a month. Plus who knows what kind of 'amenities' it comes with. |
