I interviewed the last week of July. It took 5 weeks to get the cleared to train letter. That was two weeks ago and still waiting for the phone call for a class date. I assume the delay is that they are making every attempt to place people in classes with respect to when they interviewed. What the delay is in background checks I have no idea. It took my current employer a long time to return the training records so maybe that's the kink the hose.
No sweat though, you got Joboo on your side! |

Basically, most of the scumbag regional operators would charge the fee and then wait to see if they would get paid. I think the time frame was 30 days, after which the company was required to send the info with or without payment. |

Actually most cell companies do not charge the sender of a text and they can do a voice to text message that is computer generated for free. The technology is there and is quite cheap. College campuses have this after some of the shootings that have occurred.

Jet, because some guys would claim they did not receive it. It is not the inability to send the message, it is the inability for the company to confirm the message was read. Add to it, pilots and FA's could claim they never got it, so therein lies the issue.
Doing what you state means that you would confirm you got the message, but what about those pilots that did not like the message or truly did not receive it? |

If you didn't want to accept the schedule change or had a problem with it, you could simply call them back and state your case. |
new hires
I also interviewed the last week of July as well and am still waiting on the clear to train e-mail. I was told at the interview however that some states take a long time in getting back to requests on driving records or anything else they may have, as do some companies take a long time to return any inquiries. I guess my state and company fail in all departments. I have heard through the grapevine however, that we are all suppose to be in the last class of October (those that interviewed that final week). Excited to get on board and would really like the e-mail and phone call to get the ball rolling.

It would be the same as a missed phone call or an unreturned voicemail, they would have to try other means. The text msg thing would have to be a voluntary thing on the part of the individual pilot. IE, you would have to sign up for it in icrew (or somewhere else). If there was no number listed in a pilot's info to text a schedule change they would have to call your contact number, call your arrival gate, use ACARS, etc. I'm saying we keep the normal means of contact we have now and just add this as a voluntary program to save time and/or money.
If you didn't want to accept the schedule change or had a problem with it, you could simply call them back and state your case. Agreed, SMS falls in to the "nice to have" category. |

I think that "adopt a pilot" program that was mentioned earlier sounds like a great program. Especially for military guys that don't know a lot about the workings of an airline. Thanks for the support all! |
Are the early August new-hires gonna stay in the pool while the flowthroughs replace the retirements for the next 5 years?
