Just curious...
If you could fly for ANY airline - regardless of requirements - which would it be and why?
|
Continental, because I already have the uniforms. :D
Just kidding, I'm from the SFO area, so I always wanted to go to United, but now I'm glad I'm at Continental. |
#1: Frontier
-good work environment/atmosphere, nice small company, adequate salary, good bid system setup, good aircraft, based at an excellent airport in an area where I would love to live. #2: Continental. -Pretty much the same as above, except: "traditional" bid system setup, bases are less desireable. Why I can't work at Frontier: no internal connection Why I can work at Continental: have internal connection. |
PanAm circa 1970. White hats. :o That was a good job!
|
For me, Alaska Airlines:) Fly to cool places, I would get to stay on the west coast. Oh, and the employees there are really cool.
|
As
Of course, Alaska Airlines. Is there really any other?
SkyHigh I will carry a bowling ball of disappointment in my chest for the rest of my life because that dream didn't work out. |

[BContinental Ailines, the reason is because they have a good business plan and also they have all Boeing fleet (finally) also I live in the area:D .
|
Air Wisconsin, because I would love to be based in the eastern part of the US, and I'd love to fly the CRJ-200.
|
UPS or FedEx because you don't have to deal with TSA, passengers, gate agents or flight attendants.
|
1. Qantas! I dig Australian chicks!
2. British Airways! I dig British chicks! 3. Virgin! I dig Virgins... |
Hell yea to Pan Am circa 1960s-70s. It would probably be a payraise!
|
ASA or Delta because I am from ATL. but would also love to fly for United on an international route
|
1. Express Jet - I love the E145. I love it I love it I love it
2. Southwest Airlines - Best airline ever... And I love the 737. |

Besides Frontier or Southwest I wouldn't mind working for a cargo carrier, but I'm not sure I'd want to have to go through a few years as a flight engineer - just seems like it'd be real boring. |

Hey, Mike When I worked ramp for BM airways, AKA Pan AM, AKA clipper connection, or whatever you called them. The Pan AM guys still wore White Hats. That was only a few years ago. I thought they looked very cool too. Thumbs up to Pan AM Oh, and I would say maybe British Airways because I'd get to call myself speedbird over the radio:D |
Lake Powell Air, pre-Grand Canyon SFAR
Five airports on the most beautiful lake on the planet. 10 Feet over the glass at sunrise. Chasing horses on Cummings, Descending after takeoff at Bullfrog, Hite with venturi winds out of three canyons, Between spires in Monument Valley, scud running the Kaibab, pitching horseshoes at the Bar10 Ranch. Flying through the narrows at Mead at sunset. Cowboy boots, dirt strips, movie stars. The only downside was the mind numbing smell of Japanese puke. (Must be the raw fish) or the body odor of French women who have spent a week on the Colorado (two things in the world smell like fish and fish is one of them). |
#1. Tied: Air Canada & PanAm circa 1970
#2: British Airways / Air Jamaica #3: Virgin Atlantic ---> Pan Am is the greatest ever! Hands down. No contest! I hope they get another chance! P.S. What's the deal with JetBlue? I dont hear anyone ever talking about them. It's almost like they dont exist? |

anywhere with an old DC-3...but not for long, I would think it would lose its appeal after a while. I love the taildragger and would love to see the differences between the tiny 170 and the DC-3
As for Airline to work for...Probably Southwest, I know a few people who enjoy it there..or at least as much as a job can be enjoyed And then Cape air....only if I could be top ten in seniority...I think that would be a great gig, make enough to live comfortably, live in New Hampshire where I am originally from and do some local handflying seeing the leaves change from the air. The seniority deal would just ensure the best QOL possible |
The chance to fly a TWA L-1011 would be priceless.

Google founders' Boeing 767-200. What a fun gig that would be!

1. USAF - F-16 only. Probably make more the most commercial these days. 2. Somewhere in the middle of who treats me well, pays me the most, and has better than average aircraft. |
Pilots only run from gate to gate to catch their commute, not while on the job! :)
|
I second that motion on Pan Am (of old) Also, I flew on Braniff several times as a kid, incredible memories... As a kid, always dreampt of flying the Braniff 47's
|
If Pan Am's long gone - what's going on here (taken May, 2006):

British Airways, no doubt. Amazing airline, amazing repuatation, amazing service, amazing fleet, amazing destinations, AND amazing pay! What more could you want? I guess second to that would be Virgin Atlantic for the amazing flight attendants! lol
