Default Send them to Gitmo

Who is for Gitmo and military tribunals now???

Here is my rant:

Word is that these latest guys are Pakistani...the same country we just helped w/ billions in aid w/ earthquake relief...my Bro flew many sorties w/ blankets/food/medical aid for these people just last winter.

I know where Skygirl stands and a few other token liberals that frequent this site...Ryan & Surreal included.

Liberals want full legal representation for these guys...how many will walk due to technicalities??? or just get a few years...I can hear the ACLU now " ...well, they were only planning this...they didn't actually do anything...yet."

I believe they should be treated as war criminals and if the Brits don't throw them away for good, we should send in a SEAL team, extract them, then accidentally drop them over the Atlantic at FL 410.

I'm concerned w/ the slap down of one of the few Dems I respected (Lieberman). Where is the party going and what side are they on?

The Radicals do not care how compassionate we are or how just we are to Palestine, they do not care one bit! They (the radical Islamists) want us dead...and they are starting their destructive efforts w/ our economy--get the airlines/the economomy and civilians in one blow.

Why should they not get full legal representation? Don't get me wrong, I agree with everything you say except for the first sentence here. The ACLU is a joke and that is exactly what they will be saying. But not letting them be represented?

They are British citizens right? You can't set a precedent of not giving your citizens due process.

Now the Gitmo guys, picked up on the battlefield. In any other war in American history they would have been summarily executed as spies without trial. Legally.

Had these maggots succeeded in downing U.S. airliners and thus more fellow airline pilots experiencing a horrendous, violent death -- how would our industry be affected?

Folks, we are one aircraft downing by a religious zealot away from another industry tailspin. Scary, if you ask me.

The same reason illegal immigrants shouldn't. I have to pay taxes for my rights. Someone else doesn't deserve them. Esp if they are trying to kill us.

The last time I checked, the Declaration of Independence said," All men are created equal, and endowed by their creator with certian inaliable rights"

These people are scumbags, and need to be eliminated, but if a precedent is set for denying "religious extremists" due process, we start down a very slippery slope.

You do not pay taxes for your rights. The government does not hand them out at its discression. Rights are bestowed upon us at birth by God. Governments are instituted among men to preserve these rights.

I take offense to that as well, and I'm not Muslim. That kind of ignorance is like saying all Christians are bad because of Jim Jones or Catholics are horrible because of the Inquisitions.

The term "radical/religious right" refers to groups which, despite other ideological differences, pose a threat to liberty, democracy and pluralism. They are "radical," in that they advocate extreme and dramatic changes in society. They are "religious," in that they tend to base their ideologies upon religious doctrines and religious texts. To paint a religion with such a broad brush is just plain ignorant AND violates the forums TOS.

We do have rules on the forum that address religious threads, so I don't want to see this turned into a debate on religion.

Thanks for playing space monkey - so long.

The US Constitutions does not apply to any terrorist arrest in the UK. And they are not just criminals, they are war criminals, terrorists, and prisoners of war. They should be treated as such. Civilian rules do not apply.

They aren't prisoners of war, unless the BRITISH delcare them as such and choose to extradite them to the US, or the US decides to invade British soil and bring them out (as apparently has happened in Italy).

I imagine that they will be tried under British law and all of the applicable stautues that GB has for it's citizens.
