Just what we need a LUV triangle

ALK stock price is up about $2.25 (4.72%)

Percentage wise this stock is one of the bigger climbers in the airline sector today.

I think that meatball just got a little spicier.

Can we all agree that's not acceptable?

As soon as we agree you're trying to incorrectly ascribe one word in one post as emblematic of how Delta pilots speak, or how they feel.

You're going to have a hard enough time with conflicting issues with the AirTran pilots in a minute, once you get a good old-fashioned SLI debate going. I don't think it's necessary to deflect those issues onto the Delta pilots, or effective.

At any rate, let me say that this Delta pilot respects your company, and its' many accomplishments, but that this Delta pilot also has found that the corporate attitude has become quite arrogant, something this Delta pilot finds to be reflected in the attitude of many of his former regional colleagues now at LUV. This Delta pilot of course cannot but recognize that SWAPA has been meddling in our slot-swap with LCC, and that your company is attacking the interests of mine. That means my wallet, and my wallet is a source of support to my family.

So no, let's not get into trivial discussions about AirTran being any kind of lesser airline: you're going to have that discussion all by yourselves. You're all going to be Southwest pilots, and I will continue to dislike the brown plague in an even, across-the-board sort of way.;)

They won't pull out but again I don't think turn times are the name of the game anymore than it is in LGA or will be in EWR. Its "GREAT NEWS, we're here, we love you ATL, our ticket prices are cheaper, our planes are canyon blue and we want to sponsor all things Atlanta."

I mean thats a guess but its my bet. i.e. my bets a guess.

Delta will have to do NO SUCH THING!! Delta has already completed THEIR merger. If Southwest wants gates and slots i ATL or New York then they'll have to BUY them. They don't have any inherent "right" to anything that belongs to Delta. What they Will get is some pretty good routes they didn't have before and Maybe their managment might get some Guts and get out of their fear of new things. Air Tran's management is pretty Agressive. Southwest's management might actially LEARN somethng from them and fly to their FULL potential. If they don't? Well they'll just be another LARGE run of the Mill National. instead of what they really Could be..

HA HA! I'm telling you, we're going to shelve it on Oct 13th and roll it back out at their SOC but only on ramps 3 and 4.

I wonder if the 717s would be pulled from ATL and go elsewhere in the SWA system?

I can respect that! Nice post.

My own point of view is that you and many of your Delta coworkers think that SWA is acting "too big for its britches" and that you wouldn't have near the same heartburn about it had it been Continental or American protesting the slot swaps. We both know that this merger is a big deal particularly in the case of ATL, LGA, and SWA dipping its toes in the international water. You'd like it to be painful for us, because it would make it easier on Delta if it failed. I can respect that point of view as long as we both understand that's what you're up to.
