Question ZED Fare around Asia

Hey everyone, I am going on vacation later this month around Asia (Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong Kong) I was curious if anyone had any tips or suggestions as to getting around on a ZED Fares. I know the rules of the ZED but was wondering if anyone checked bags or had any real issues that they could share. You're help is much appreciated as this is my first time to Asia and using ZED.

I have travelled extensively with ZED's in the past and find them usefull long haul. A lot of the time, however, depending on where you are going, it may be as cheap simply to buy a ticket. If you have to check a bag, BA are nazis about this, they will put a standby tag on it and load only if you get a seat. Then you pick it up in baggage claim like everybody else..

If you plan to also fly ZED on a domestic flight within one of those countries, make sure your ZED agreement allows it. Some airlines, JAL and ANA off the top of my head, will not allow this if I remember correctly.

Also when you Zed make sure its a zed that can be used on multiple airlines not just one airline. Example, I flew to NRT on AA then zed from NRT to BKK could have used Jal, Thai or Ana ended up getting on Thai flight that left 45 min after i got in. They even gave me a biz seat! Good luck & have fun..
