Best Christmas bonus I've ever received was my early years at SkyWest--4.3 hours holiday pay and $50. The $50 bonus was actually $50+FICA,ssi and other taxes so that each crewmember netted $50.

Personally I hate getting the genuine authentic holiday meal in a Styrofoam box. Having spent many holidays at sea, steal beach picnics with the requisite two O'duals is more depressing than just calling Christmas or Thanksgiving another Groundhog Day. For me all the official holiday food does is remind me I am not home.
Give me a Walmart card and holiday pay, and I will be pleased as punch. |
PS tickets are a joke. Too cheap for the $ 5.00 bag lunch now?
What are the odds of winning this lottery ? guessing 1/1000 Why don't they raffle off that piece o crap TV in the ATL lounge for a prize? I swear they are the cheapest. too many col. trying to get that general slot. |
At xj one year if you didn't call in sick for the month of December you got 300 bucks cash. In January your chief pilot had a stack of travelers checks and you recieved 3 one hundered dollar travelers checks.

RAH is doing meals for those working Christmas day, they've done it for years for both Christmas and Thanksgiving. But I know, we are still a bottom feeder...and you still hate us...and I don't care.

At SWA 1.5 Holiday pay. Large buffet in all the domiciles including ham, turkey and all the trimmings for all employees working that day. Every hotel offers a holiday meal for crew members free of charge. No one enjoys working Holiday's but at least I am well fed. On Thanksgiving I had a turkey dinner before leaving the hotel around noon. Rolled through Vegas and grabbed a plate in the lounge and then had ham for dinner at the hotel that night. I would have much rather been at home but at least I didn't miss out on any food. The joys of being junior!

Mesaba typically offered a meal in the 3 crew bases. But most of the time the crews can't take advantage of it and the rampies and gate agents gobble it up (and they aren't even Mesaba anymore). I would much rather be paid premium pay over guarantee for the 6 official company holidays. I would be much more appreciative of that. After all everything else around here is all about $ first.

CommutAir is providing a full Christmas dinner for everyone working on the 25th at both hubs. The same was provided on Thanksgiving day.
