I think for the most part the folks that have moved on to places like jetBlue etc had some previous turbine time. I'm hoping that perhaps as hiring windows open more the flight time we get (it's still scheduled multi PIC, just missing that pesky turbine part) will become more attractive; it would be nice if possible to avoid starting at the bottom of a regional to get some more jet time.

I didn't mean it so literally, I know it's a big gap between the 402 and the rest of the 121 world. Like you said though some folks have done it, though as I mentioned the ones that have usually have previous turbine time.
As far as the ATR goes a bid was actually just put out, one FO and one CA spot, the FO spot went pretty junior, CA I think somewhere in the middle. The thing with the ATR is it's out in Guam and it's an 18 month commitment, most folks are either really into the idea or not at all. Generally not a lot of movement because of the commitment involved.

Just a humble opinion .... .
Probably harder to fly a 402, keep it in balance and manage those Continentals than fly a 777. More rules on the 777. More flying on the C402.
I would not think you would be excluded, but probably the military guys will get hired first followed closely by the RJ Captains who already have ten or fifteen years flying passengers for that major. Of course the well connected will get hired before anyone.
Probably best to keep doing what you are getting paid to do, while working every good connection you find. In a few years the retirements will be be opening so many doors you will be picking where you desire to work. Better to be at the front of that line if you can.
