Default Remembering .......

We all know what anniversary tomorrow is all about. I hope everyone takes a bit of time from their day to reflect on the horror from five years ago and remember those who perished, from pilots, flight attendants, passengers, police, firefighters, office workers and many others.

Let us especially remember and pay tribute to the heroes of that day, many of whom gave up their lives attempting to help others. We may never know the true depth of the heroism that day, but I'm certain a higher force than us is aware.

We have all learned much since that day, but for me, on the 5th anniversary I want all of my thoughts on those that exhibited the very best of mankind. That's what I want to remember tomorrow.

For me - the time to remember heroes has passed. I'll be spending the day thinking only of revenge against muslims that wish to harm my family / my friends / and my country...

....Let slip the dogs of war....

I actually wasnt in the United States on (-11_01. I was deployed to Bosnia and it was 4:30 in the afternoon wher eI was. When I first heard aabout it, I thought they were talking about a small Cessna then I found out it was an airliner. Sad case I knew one of the pilots he was a fellow mwmber of OBAP with me.

In all honesty though, I have to agree with the abpve poster. I dont know why we have a anniverssary for it. Its not exactly something I want to remember. America has had many tragedies. Pearl Harbor, Slavery, Oklahoma bombing. Except for Pearl Harbor, we dont ave national anniverssaries for other events

Laff, you may think of it as revenge, I prefer to call it justice. Give the bast##ds what they deserve. Call it what you want, but I agree it is time to unleash the dogs of war and show no mercy.

Justice is best left in a court of law...It's not appropriate for the people we are now at war with.

This is what I want. This is what will keep me warm on cold-nights knowledge that our intel services are torturing those involved with terrorism. Once they have no intel value. I want them half-alive on a dirt floor in some ****hole prison with an american standing behind them slowly screwing a silencer on a 9mm...

...let them say a last prayer if they can still talk and a shot to the back of the head...body in an unmarked grave. Case closed.

You think murdering your enemy is the answer to this world problem!
You must be very young and have a lot to learn about life. The guy you so grafically describe with the 9mm wouldn't be an American in the eyes of any rational thinking Human Being.

Yes he would...

Another thing. If he's hurt while being captured - the finest MDs our country has will be flown to his location. He will be operated on, he will be fed / and cared for. Once rested and fit for interrogation an unmarked gulfstream will transport him to his new home. He will be questioned / information of any value will be gleamed. If our methods don't get the results we need - we'll fly him to any number of friendly intel services in the middle-east and they will question him.

It happens. It has happened. The VP said it best "we need to operate on the dark-side"

I got this email the other day. I think it's a great idea to honor those who are gone:

Flag on 9/11

Fly the Flag on 9/11

Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign and PLEASE forward this email immediately to everyone in your address book asking them to also forward it. We have a little less than one week and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America. If you forward this email to everyone in your address book and each of those people do the same... you get the idea.

The Program Is This: On Monday, September 11th, 2006, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States.

Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this fifth anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do...
1. Forward this email to everyone you know. Please don't be the one to break this. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11/01 and let those sentiments guide you.
2. Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation.

God Bless You and God Bless America.

I'll leave it up to LAFF to divulge his ethnic/religious background if he so chooses, but suffice it to say his perspective on Muslim tyranny and barbarism is deeper than yours will ever be.
