Fish

can you explain why you get so much gratification out of people that could end up out of work. You said you have been in the industry for a long time I know it has not all been at Alaska. So you have had to go through some hard times unless every thing you post is complete bs.

Thus far only Southwest & JetBlue have eked out a profit. Tough market for all right now with oil > $110/barrel.

Alaska Air Group did quite well for Q1, $29.5 million. Record profit for Q1.

Oh, and Alaska...good job.

"The airline ended 2010 with $30 million in unrestricted cash and $66 million in total liquidity."

Oh oh!

Really? I believe I've made my opinion of Virgin pilots manifestly clear.

Current gas prices are going to eat that up quick. Sir Dick better get ready to shovel some MORE money into VX.

I think VX has a good product, and a good niche. I just don't think they need to grow to 50-100 airplanes. Right-sizing may be 35-40 aircraft, and a happy employee group. Eventually, they'll make a profit, if they stop growing so fast.
