Hey guys and gals,
The station manager at the Marine Air Terminal (MAT) in LGA has gone rogue again. A few years ago the manager told TSA to not allow pilots or flight attendants through security without tickets.... needless to say this was quickly overturned since Delta policy is only internationals need to go to the ticket counter, and they didn't want each station manager making up their own rules... not to mention, it could trigger a matching response from other carriers which just makes everybody's life more difficult.
Well, the same station manager is at it again, and once again if you are tying to rush to catch that last flight out on the shuttle, they are making you go get in line at ticketing and get a ticket to clear security.
Just wanted to give everybody a heads up to allow more time at this one station until it can be fixed yet again.

Are you sure this was the station manager? I believe there is only one station manager at LGA who works both terminals. A few years ago the problem you mention also happened at JFK. It was the TSA head who mandated the change at all terminals and airlines. If your airline did not serve the terminal he required a boarding pass. ALPA was able to get the this changed but it took some work.
I don't know the issue happening now but I am curious why you state its the MAT station manager. If you basing that on a statement from a TSA screener I would consider the information almost worthless not to mention there is not a MAT station manager position.

Just used the shuttle and that was not the case. In-fact i didn't show the TSA guy my seat request and the FA behind me did. TSA guys then said "now I'm going to have to mark that thing". They really didn't care. FYI the kiosk is right next to security and take like 30 seconds to get a seat request.
