I'd say ANC is the junior base today. Be we never know when that will change. LAX just got a boost in growth (not much) due to some relief in the contract to allow more co-terminal domicile flying, and I see SEA growing. If I had to guess, there wouldn't be not much growth in ANC or PDX. If you get on, be ready to be in ANY of the 4 bases, and hold you choice base in year 2. I've learned to keep my expectations low thus far.

do you think that this next group that gets hired will be furloughed like the last group....seems like conditions are going to be ripe for that in a year or so.....a friend from the mngmt side that was cut back in 09 told me that the corp. culture is fanatical when it comes to playing the market...She said that her dept. would play scenarios with wall streeters and employees were cannon fodder in that game....prob. timing is everything

One could only speculate if there have been changes to the pilot interview since the last pilot was hired in January of 2008. My guess, is that there won't be a sim ride. I haven't heard of anyone receiving one since we restarted hiring in 2005. Also, the HR manager that was in charge of hiring from '05-'08 is rumored to have left the company. Whomever replaces that person from the HR department could make changes to the process. Just a guess, but if you prepare for your interview based on gouges from '05-'07, you should be good to go.
