Default Seaside Hotel in Honolulu

The systems board has declared that the Seaside does NOT meet the standards of our contract.

Is is noisy and below the standards called for in our contract. You cannot get adequate rest there. The windows are not double paned and do not block out the street/partying noise. The air conditioners are very loud and you are either too hot or too cold.

And you are staying there because?

The problem has been that United owns the hotel

UAL maintained the Seaside like they do the 757 fleet. It is a shame UAL pilots don't understand their contract when it comes to getting adequate rest when on a layover.

Are you implyinh that new paint means all is well with the airplane? The one in the photo could very well have ZERO DF items, while a new shiny painted plane is out of service for maintenance issues.

If you use paint as your barometer I know a few unscrupulous airplane brokers you might want to talk to.

Personally I think the company has done a fairly good job of getting planes through the paint shop quickly versus the last regime. Hopefully we will adopt the CAL cleaning process as their planes had better exterior cleaning than the UAL side ever did.

Yeah, that's critical stuff. I think Jeff talks about that in the inflight safety briefing (when the FAs don't skip it). It even made it as an positive point in the latest employee satisfaction survey. I was wondering who it was that thought it was important enough to mention.
Meanwhile, Rome is burning.
As for the cleaning, I'm betting we will still have Scrub doing the same mediocre job as they battle their way upsteam while the pax are scrambling to deplane and make their next connection.
