The illegal work action as conducted by the east pilots drove that number down along with fuel prices.

Funny, I didn't see anything about an "illegal work action" in this press release!

Have to see the cease and desist injunction granted in Federal District Court in CLT by Judge Conrad if you are interested. The company testified under oath what the work action was estimated to have cost them.

The closest I've seen to deliberate action was a west crew in a 737.

If the East is engaging in anything, it is not as effective as the West's work without even trying.

But, revenue up, profits down, is the story of every airline this quarter with the exception of Alaska which is receiving the benefit of Northwest merger synergies (ie new Delta Connection carrier with 737's thanks to a scope cut and paste job)

Surely you jest! It will take a lot more than a few late flights to make up for the cheap labor.

What would the number have been if the West pilots took a paycut down to East wages? Would it have been better? Perhaps you should suggest it.
The East pilots are trying to improve their pay and working conditions. Every pilot regardless of their thoughts on any other issue should support that 100 percent.
Just curious, what is the profit center of USAIR? What region?

The east needed to man up to arbitration they agreed to years ago, but now its just a train wreck that has no end in sight.

Why don't all you guys get a bullet proof room and just go at each other till it's done? Give it a rest, come together and bring your pay up to what it should be. You are all an embarrasment to the industry!!!

Here is the thing, ALPA merger policy allows for a completely acceptable east/west scenario in ANY arbitration. All the "losing" group has to do is never pass the joint CBA after the list is done.

There is a similar movement at Delta to gain another agent I the property. If the MEC does its job, I will not have a chance. Have you any idea how difficult it is to remove ALPA from the property at an airline--and t managed to happen.

As with most things, pilots choose to villify and point fingers rather than look at the underlying cause and fix THAT.
