I only posted for serious debate of the subject. If you'd like to take personal jabs, bring it to PM like your friend 1S1E. Otherwise, enjoy the "cost reduction" measures at your already "low cost carrier" & try to stay on topic!

Good day,

GJ
Well GJ, here is my contibution to the topic. I read Gary Kelly's letter and didn't read in all the doom and gloom indicated by those here on I hate SWA Pilot Central. Posturing? Maybe so. Why on earth should we worry too much when we can still charge for bags at some point. Will we? Time will tell.

Now back to the off topic issue I have with you that you submintted on a public forum. That is why I see no need to take it to PM's.

You sir became unhinged while posting on the "myseniority.com" thread. Many read what you had to say and before we could respond you took said comments off for some reason. You can claim to be the the epitomy of decorum and constraint currently, but you are an angry bitter person who should seek some help. Again you can hide on an anonymous forum and throw insults and make claims that are really just your personal opinion, but please don't claim that they are the facts. My personal favorite was when you insulted members of the armed forces (One of which you are a member apparently). Do you deny that you did? That of course was only one of your rants among many.

Would you care to answer why you changed your posts? Why would that thread be closed except for your TOS violations? I am pretty sure you will not answer my questions here publicly. Character is something that is rare in this day. One only needs to see your avatar to know that you are biased and that your opinion should be disregarded. Good day to you!

Now back on topic because we all want to maturely discuss ideas and show repect for others opinions here on I hate SWA pilot central.

The "Fluf" Oscar

OBTW. Moderators - perhaps someone could update the pay on the SWA board to reflect the correct hourly pay rate. Trip pay times 1.1393 equals hourly. That would give a 12 year "fluf" captain $216 and change. That is at least for now until the doom/gloom/I hate SWA predictions come true.

Seems like this $$ could have been better used buying pizzas for the revenue management guys as they brainstorm ancillary ideas.

Hopefully the pilots will be smart enough to demand gk to eat crow with his ad campaign before accepting wage cuts to subsidize his attack on legacy carriers looking for legitimate sources of revenue.

The guys who should be irate: Airtran guys who got thrown under the bus by swapa and the co. Herb must be heartbroken to see what is just beginning to evolve at his "creation".

Nothing too earth shattering, just adding some 'special ingredients' in the Kool-Aid. Let's see who drinks it.

On a side note, I find it interesting he talks about AMR and other legacies, yet thier whole company model states "We're different from the other airlines". If your different do your own thing. Who cares what others are doing.

MarketWatch - Link
Southwest CFO: December to be another strong month

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:LUV) expects another "exceptional" month of unit revenue growth for December, according to Chief Financial Officer Laura Wright. For November, the Dallas-based airline saw its unit revenue rise an estimated 9%, and another high-percentage digit number is anticipated for the current month, Wright said, speaking at an analysts' meeting. Airlines have been lifting fares this past year to outpace a sharp jump in fuel prices. Elsewhere, Wright noted the carrier was not seeking concessions from its workforce in the wake of a bankrupt AMR Corp. (NYSE:AMR) , which now has the potential to lower labor costs for its American Airlines unit. As a younger, lower-cost carrier, Southwest has benefited from its Ft. Worth, Texas-based rival's higher cost structures.

Section 6 is coming up, AMR declares bankruptcy and our 3 main competitors currently work under concessionary contracts. Maybe GK wants to save some money if he can. I suspect SWAPA won't be in any great rush to get this finished before UCAL and DAL.

Gearjerk has a second job as a news anchor, I will let you guys guess which one of the three GJ is

Oscar,

Please use the red Have an update link on the SWA Profile page, which is located just below the quicktake. We as moderators do not have the ability to alter those pages.

Thanks
