Default SWA...Boeing question

As a large (The largest?) operator of the 737...can anyone tell me what procedures you use for pre-takeoff engine run-ups in icing conditions ?

Thanks,
Gomer

South West does not have to do a pre takeoff engine run in icing conditions.
From the time they push off the gate they are already a T/O speed.

Had to through that out I will ask my buddies that work there what they do.

I guess that's why they taxi so fast...they're at 90+% from pushback. The fuel burn for taxi must be horrendous.

One kitten for every 5 degrees C below 0 degrees OAT ingested into each engine at least 5 minutes prior to takeoff . . .

the 737 requires no Pre-runup checks except for De-icing where fluid must not be sprayed directly into the engine or it could damage the fan blades. is That what you're talking about??

Actually no.....In prepping for 73 ground school I found that Boeing recommends periodic run-ups on the ground in icing conditions....with take-off being preceded by a fairly lengthy static run-up (30 seconds?)...was wondering if this is accurate and figured the SWA folks would know if anyone would.
