WN/FL merger not going as planned, eh?

GREAT POST!! Although you're wasting your breath (a.k.a typing skills) on the LUV guys on this forum, it's nice to see someone else gets it!!
Long story short. SWAPA protected their own pilots, only to be integrated later with the pilots they were "bending over", and stealing seniority from. Makes a ton of sense doesn't it?

AirTran pilots were ALPA pilots trying to get the best deal they could get in a three way tug-of-war with SWAPA pilots and SWA. When the dust finally settled there was an integrated list. Each side had high expectations for their team. All of that is history. We will all press forward as one team and move on from there. Those who choose to live in the past will waste their lives *****ing about what could have been instead of pressing on and playing the cards that have been delt.

We still have former Morris pilots who ***** about how bad they got screwed in 1994. They live in the past and wonder why senior FO's bid out of great paying weekday trips so that they don't have to fly with them. If that's the road you choose have at it but I sleep well at night based on what Gary Kelly puts in my bank account on the 5th and 20th of each month.

Nice you can sleep. GK will ALWAYS make sure your piggy bank is full. How can anything go wrong....AT will suffer throughout their careers because of the actions of GK and the SWA pilots, but heck they should just get over it and get some sleep... you know what is best for them and their families.. karma,... wait for it..... now go back to sleep but you just may want to sleep with one eye open!

They wont suffer financially. They will also have more days off over their career and wont have to watch their passengers fly on another carrier. But yeah, other than that they will suffer greatly. And yes, they lost relative seniority. That sucked for them. It's almost like a compromise or something....

Like I said if you can project and assume SWA will ALWAYS be on top an AT guy may see your POV. But I seriously doubt they are as happy as the SWA pilots like to think they are. No KoolAId can drink this fat chick pretty, sorry. Again, it is only my opinion.

In the long run maybe, but in the short term AT guys are on tap to be furloughed first. As an added bonus, the 717 guys will be on a B scale for about 3 more years. Those two things are BIG clouds for us AT folks and will not be easily forgotten. If you were on this side of the partition, you'd see it too.
Huh?
So most AT folks do not get a pay raise, our jobs are LESS stable by being furlough fodder for SWA newhires, and gave up A LOT of relative seniority (not true in my very juniorness).
...and we are just supposed to LUV it and smile because it will all be good.

USN,
You guys lost short term, no doubt. Long term, where would you be better off?
The guys on the 717 are FL pilots on the FL pay scale I believe? As far as furloughs goes: as long as FL exists, you guys are exposed 1:1? Once you are on the combined list, the bottom is pure SWA.
I still think the combined airline will be better than the two standing alone.
