Great....another back-door dues increase through my 401K. We voted that down a few years ago. It was all RAH RAH RAH from ALPA how being assessed dues on the 401K was a good thing for us at XJ (the typical hard sell), followed by deafening silence after it was voted down. Their argument was that it isn't "fair" that a 401K at a regional isn't assessed dues, but one at the majors are. My solution for them was simple. I'd be willing to pay dues on my 401K if we had a defined benefit plan. Once again...deafening silence. They knew that outright raisig of the dues would be opposed by all, but the 401K thing might slip through the cracks to make up for the lost income of losing the USAIR representation. Seems that I'm either getting hosed by the governemnt via taxes, the company via bankruptcy, or the union through higher fees. All trying to make up for their screw-ups by taking it out of my wallet. I've about had it.

Ah yes, this makes good and perfect sense. Regional guys DON'T have any form of retirement other than a 401(k), usually with a miserable match...so let's skim another 2% off the top! Well played, ALPA, you're developing quite the cheering section among the next generation of mainline pilots...I see this working out quite well for you in the long run. </snark>Not that Moak cares, he'll be on to bigger and better things by then.

If this is about the 401k exemption, which doesn't pertain to Delta pilots, then it's total BS. Please tell me that the DPA isn't trying to spin this as an increase on Delta pilot dues, because if they are, that's just not true. DYODD, because obviously the DPA isn't in this case.

So after Pinnacle pilots are reamed by management in Chp 11 bankruptcy with a huge concessionary contract, ALPA will then take their dues on the 401k contributions as well? Well played, ALPA! Those fat cats in Herndon need to cushion their $500,000 salaries.
Pathetic. |
