I just missed quoting original text... Bottom line is ALPA needs fiscal responsibility from the top down.

I got a couple details wrong myself. Hence responsibility in publishing (unlike this DPA article). Check out that one on the 757, too. YIKES. I don't know if they are pulling a lindsay lohan and just trying to still be noticed or what. But I am less than pleased with the current trend vector.

I totally agree that ALPA needs fiscal responsibility, but the DPA people are showing now that they are going to be more of the same crap.

If this is about the 401k exemption, which doesn't pertain to Delta pilots, then it's total BS. Please tell me that the DPA isn't trying to spin this as an increase on Delta pilot dues, because if they are, that's just not true. DYODD, because obviously the DPA isn't in this case.

80ktsClamp 05-13-2012 09:25 PM

FWIW, it is the elimination of an exemption of pilot contributions to a 401k from dues calculations at carriers where that is their only source of retirement. That applies to a few regionals, which are already cost negative to ALPA.

Correct. Delta pilots already pay dues in this manner. No dues increase for any Delta pilot, even if this is ratified. And as of right now, I'll be surprised if this even goes through, anyway. It was already voted down once before a few years ago.

It sure as heck better go through, because right now, UAL pilots aren't paying dues on their 401k contributions either, and haven't been since their DB terminated in 2005.:mad:
