1. The ratios and such are neat, and with the 717 carrot it seems to spell growth, but the numbers just don't guarantee growth. On top of that, everyone official is dodging the issue of the possibility of the AirTran 717 pilots coming over with the airplanes. It could give some growth to us, but with the mainline airplanes that are going to be parked (replaced...) over the coming years, it will not be much. I'm overall for the idea, but the fact is we are giving DCI 70 long term viable airplanes in exchange for parking around 190 short term viable planes. So, while marginalizing the size of DCI we are increasing their scope of viability and longevity. The language needs to be tightened up on the exceptions particularly for me to vote yes on this.
If the AirTran pilots are an unhappy bunch now...what kind of deal would ALPA have to work to appease them if they come to mother Delta?
NO, thank you.

Not sure if this rumor even applies to this TA, but this is the second reference I've heard regarding bringing the AirTran pilots over with the 717s. The first was from a SWA buddy at my guard unit. I thought he was joking initially. I guess RA / ALPA have a plan for everything.

According to an AT pilot on this board, all AT pilots are now officially SWA pilots. There are no more AT pilots. Delta is purchasing just the aircraft and not the operation(gates, slots, etc), and so the fragmentation clause can not be triggered.

So they are officially no longer represented by ALPA, but instead by SWAPA?

At least that's what I thought.
Still the blastmail from DALPA, DAL, SWA and ALPA denouncing this rumor and setting the record straight should be here in 3... 2... 3... 2... ... 3...

I think Dickson announced the delivery schedule, and it's not fast enough to trigger fragmentation language AND I think it's quite clear the planes are leased from Boeing, not SWA. As far as I know, this rumor has been debunked a long time ago.

The tranny pilots coming over is a small aside and likely not a factor on my list. There are more pressing and real issues with the TA than some highly unlikely possibility of them coming with the planes...
