DALPA's Top 7 "Just around the corner" reasons to hurry up and vote yes!

7) the launch of an aircraft that will ravage our careers! AHHHHH! (cue man with hair on fire)
6) "industry leading pay rates" [but not W2s] by 2015...only by then, they won't be close!
5) massive acceptance of an early out program--that the company is permitted to turn off at any number!
4) block hour ratios that are easily manipulated and wholly unenforceable due to massive loopholes in language!
3) that new widebody order that's been pending for 15+ years!
2) a reveal of the the company's "business plan" (it's so good we have to bend over to see it)!
1) and my all time favorite: the next contract!

You were in that meeting? Because the only things I've heard out of that meeting were well after the fact, and were repeated by people who have a vested interest in DL pilots not being tempted to take the traditional Section 6 route.

Really? What size is actually too big? Was NWA too big in 1998? How about AMR in 1994?

The NMB creates uncertainty in the parties' minds to motivate them to reach an agreement. Anyone who told you that anyone of import at the NMB said they won't release the parties at DAL or UAL is lying. Sounds like something management would say.

I don't see any factual inaccuracies. However, the late 80s/early 90s called, and they want their airline industry back. In a perfect world, so do I. However, if you can't see that you are hanging your hopes for restoration on us the you are blind. Again... I'm voting no... But I'm voting no on a TA that is light years ahead of what UCAL is presently capable of achieving. Explain to me how, exactly, we are failing you if we ratify this TA? Bonus points for arguments that aren't based on things that happened last century. Extra bonus points for getting a JCBA TA that puts our TA to shame before, say, June 29th.

The point that your pilot group has done jack squat to improve the industry since exiting BK? Yes, he made that point beautifully.

Stop laying "the fate of the career" on us. It's the cheap way out. Try contributing something.

I first heard about it from the original MSP Capt rep (voted out 6 months ago?) when I talked to him about 10 months ago. I was upset when I heard that, thinking it was ridiculous. I then sent in a DPA card. Then I read the TA, calmed down, and looked around at our direct competitors, the economy here and Europe, the duration of this contract, the pretty good pay for the next 2 1/2 years (Jan 1 2015----19.7%), parking loads of 50 seaters and reducing outsourcing overall, and bringing on 717s, and it was a YES.

Wrong Carl. Pres Bush II told everyone prior to our C2K contract that he wouldn't let any Major airline strike.

Well, here we go again. George W. Bush told everyone eh? Then that should be very easy for you to post the quote. I'll wait.

The only President that matters right now is the current one. Please post anything from Mr. Obama or ANYONE in his administration that has EVER said that no airline will be allowed to strike. I'll wait.

Yep. UCH pilots could have had DL + 1% without any fight. It is pretty obvious what a tough unionist like yourself would have done.

Just because it was "Delta rates +$1.00" doesn't mean it was the Delta PWA.

Without any of the good fine print aspects of the current contract it definitely would be a turd sandwich. Smizeck was selling a lemon and your MEC's knew it and said no. It was way more than the scope clause that caused a collective thumbs down.
