Sorry to hear it. If you really want to be here do a deep self-analysis and come back in 6 months. Fwiw our interview is inordinately (imo only) skewed towards personality and teamwork, so if you can find the edges that might come off as rough file 'em off then give us another shot. Otherwise, everything happens for a reason and your next gig will blow us out of the water. Good luck either way.

So I felt pretty good leaving the building. A couple of questions sort of through me off guard and I didn't really have a well rehearsed story to tell, so my answers didn't come out well and I didn't necessarily stick to the situation, action, response, lessons learned format. But I didn't really think this was as big a deal as it apparently is. I'm still having a hard time getting over this.

Some tough love...in the next few days you are going to have a chance to really figure out exactly what you need to do better. No point in paying for EC then not doing it as planned. It is a big deal, and unless you don't want the job and are just showing up for practice, you need to bring your A game because it is all a big deal. My first major interview went horribly too. I was ready, i thought, and really was fired up but i wasn't near as ready as i thought i was. You need to be prepped and smooth but also have to show a little to a lot of want it bad. Did not use EC for first interview but did for second major and prepped much more effectively and sufficiently.

Take some time to really dig into your prep. Fix it. Get the next job!

Had the same experience. JB will staff the classes as needed . I think we were notified afew days before the checkride, "congratulations you've passed phase two". If they need bodies, you'll go to class phase two or not.

I was never notified of passing phase 2. I hope that two years later, I have the job!!

I pushed the issue with finding out. There was an "issue" I had with a "incident" that should have been expunged from when i was 15... Apparently they're serious when they say its goin on your permanent record!

I saw they only ask in the previous 10 years. So were you 25 when interviewed or do they go further back? I've got something I'm putting on there from 13 years ago that was also "expunged". Just want to make sure I get all my ducks in a row.

I was pretty shocked, it was 13years past plus expunged so I didn't expect it to be a problem. I explained what happened to Verna and it wasn't that big a deal. I was rather nervous for about 15 min though.

Seriously not trying to sound like a smart ass here, but did you ever read the books "Bluestreak", and "Flying High"? When I read the gouge at my pilot careers.com, the gouge stated to read those books. I used every bit of information in that book to essentially "sell myself" and it worked. The gouge questions also allowed me to do a lot of self reflecting. Unfortunately, you have to bull**** a lot of those questions too, to really sell yourself. It really has come to this point in job interviews these days.

Good luck and hang in there.

Gotta agree with this as well. I'm military as well and interviewed numerous time for full time slots in my unit...to no avail. I also interviewed at Cape Air and American Eagle and used them to gain experience in interviewing for airline jobs. It's all about playing the game...especially with showing how to demonstrate teamwork and your shining moment. In my opinion, that's key.

Thanks. My apps are out there. Although I also got the "thanks but no thanks" email from Airways about the same time B6 invited me to interview. From what I understand, a lot of military guys have gotten the stiff-arm from Airways lately. I'm hoping United starts hiring soon, since the latest I've heard about Delta is not until next year.

Dude, Let's be realistic here. Jetblue is a stepping stone to the Majors!

Jetblue IS NOT a DAL, a UAL, a FEX, a UPS, a SWA, or an AK. It just isn't!

Sure, a little Airbus time and overwater experience would have been nice in the logbook. But, Jetblue is a job, not a career!

So, you haven't lost much. Keep your apps updated at the Majors.

Good luck.

That's an awesome opinion you have, real heapful to those of us trying to make a long term commitment here!! By the way I just turned down UAL to stay. UAL still isn't worth it, to me any way. DAL maybe but not UAL!!
