Got unofficial word that there may be no classes before the end of the year. Anyone hear anything.

This would not surprise me. We are fat on pilots right now. We didn't see the losses they hired for go back to AA and DAL. Guys in BOS are timing out of the 120day consolidation period. Line holders are hungry for "premium" pay. It may be alittle longer than expected, but when the door opens, it's gonna flood.

fat on pilots?? I can't swap a single thing out of opentime because of low reserve coverage

We are not fat for BOS E90 FO. But it varies by base and seat.
As for the pool, the airplanes are still showing up monthly. We WILL need to hire pilots, and it should be at a good pace, once we work through the current overstaffing. If not by the end of the year, it will resume shortly afterward.

Had the Assistant Chief Pilot in JFK, who is also on the hiring committee, jumpseat with us just a couple of weeks back and I asked him about hiring. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but he was firm about no hiring until late summer......next year (August - September 2013). Sorry guys. He confirmed what was said above about JetBlue being extremely fat on pilots due to not as many pilots as they thought returning to AA and DAL.

I am curious as to which bases/seats are fat right now. Is it just BOS FO 190 that is not? I think every day in June has been red, and I haven't been able to swap trips or drop outside of the 48 hr window for a long time...

BOS 320 FO, been on reserve for the past year and flown a total of about 300hrs. 2 PRLs every months except this July.

JFK 320 FO has been super fat all year. Good luck picking up anything. Every weekday for the rest of June is above min coverage and 25 out of 30 days in July are above. That is not normal during the summer.
