There is some talk about DAL hiring later this year and/or early next year. The best way to get interviewed is to have all of your application material up-to-date and get some internal letters of recommendation.

Every DAL pilot hopes for hiring soon, but until the hiring begins for sure, it is generally speculation. Things change. When hiring begins, it will be for a long time. You want to be on the front of that wave.

Great, thanks for the info! I'm a new USAFR pilot, but unfortunately I only have about 600TT thus far, with only 300 of that multi turbine, and we don't fly much more than an average of 600 or 700 hundred a year...

not exactly.

The first 20 new hires every month must be compass up, to 25% of the compass list in a rolling 12 months.

Examples

If they only run 1 class every month for 5 months they would be all compass. total 100

2 classes of 20 every month for 5 months then the first 20 every month would be compass the next 20 off the street.
total 200.

 Is that interview or actual hire? Not every person interviewed gets hired. I'd be surprised if DL hired more than 50% of those interviewed. So the first interview class will be 40 Compass pilots?

No its a flow through. No interview. Straight to class. These guys interviewed at compass with a NWA pilot on the hiring board. There are only about 400 pilots left with these privileges. After that its just preferential interviews.

I love how the delta guys always freak out when they find this out. What do you mean no interview? They just get hired? Somehow these pilots aren't worthy of flying these customers at delta but its all good at delta connection.

RiddleEagle18 is correct. It's part of the flow through/flow back agreement. The flow through still exists for those on the Compass seniority list at the date of sale to TSH. The flow back exists indefinitely, unless Delta management wants to lose 35 76 seat jets.

BTW RiddleEagle, I don't think either of those guys are Delta.

There are still 80 Mesaba Captains with flow rights. They will come in groups of 9 each class in addition to the CZ pilots. Class size allowing of course.

I understand, but I know one USAFR 1Lt that got hired by fedex many years ago with about your same stats. Hired at 23 ish in 1991, you do the math.

Yeah and hopefully those of us that were in the pool with NWA and never got the call last round might get some love this time...

Guessing American will be 0 for at least the rest of the year. Any word on US Air or Southwest? I don't remember seeing them.

As of now Southwest will be zero until at least 2015. Any new airframes are being used to replace the 717s that are going to Delta.

This is just from a source who has been correct about what has been going on at UPS. I was informed they should be hiring by late fall to early next year. Of course who knows if this will happen but i believe what he says. He told me about the recalls before they happened.

UPS still has 57 pilots on furlough and just announced further flight reductions after chopping 10% earlier this year.

Hiring is unlikely here for a while.
