Hiring for the rest of the year?
 

What is the expected hiring / recall / etc status for all the large/major airlines from now til the end of the year (when age 65 starts)? Of course, no one knows the future, but educated guesses from those with knowledge would be great. Seems like it'd be nice to get a collective update on the industry.

United might start to hire off the street they are expecting to burn through all 1437 furloughed pilots when the recall start.
Continental will hire off the street this year

Yes Continental they are not merged yet not until we have a SLI its all smoke and mirrors with smisdick It says United on the side but it is continental pilots.

Like you, I have not heard anything about an (J)CBA--->SLI ratification either.

All I know, the current CBA that I'm bound-by still says:

As far as hiring goes, it's anyone's guess.....

Hawaiian is looking at 95 from July 2012 to July 2013... App window is closed now though...

This is just from a source who has been correct about what has been going on at UPS. I was informed they should be hiring by late fall to early next year. Of course who knows if this will happen but i believe what he says. He told me about the recalls before they happened.

Delta as early as 4th quarter this year. Probably end of next year though.

Virgin America is hiring 6 a month til the end of the year starting in Aug.
