We absolutely know? So, if no one takes an early out, how many less pilots can the company operate the airline with? That's what we know.
How many pilots will apply for and be accepted for early outa to mitigate our loss? That's what we don't know.
5-7 years down the road though, they would have retired anyway and we will still have the same work rules that require less pilots though. Thats back to what we know.
To sum it up: All the bad stuff is definite. A lot of the good stuff serms to be iffy.

It says that flight ops is:
"preparing to begin the hiring process later this year"
That could mean anything...
Just like this line from over 2 years ago:
We'll be launching LGA ORD shuttle service with EMB175 aircraft which we hope will pave the way to grow that market into mainline service once we see demand increase enough to justify a larger aircraft. (LGA-ORD is in the single digits of top US city pairs, it won't ever get any better...)
Cheers
