Default G4 In Hawaii

I saw an Allegiant 757 in HNL yesterday.

Are pilots being based in Hawaii? Did the company decide about layovers versus 3-man crews?

Base to open Nov 1 last I heard, with two A/C. Still planning to use 1 CA and 2 FOs to do turns to mainland as far as I know.

Default ouch

Does that start with a redeye from HnL on the turn? Even with three that's gotta hurt and be marginally safe.

Approx. 12 hr round trip with about an hour turn time, for a total of 13 hour duty day with only two legs. Then home and in your own bed to sleep. It can't be any more unsafe than the regional pilots doing 5-6 legs per day, and 14-15 hour duty days for an 8 hour reduced rest overnight at a hotel.

Best part is you only have to do 8 days of work for 96 hours of pay. I doubt it will hurt that much.

I've never been one to question our routes, but Boise to HNL? Really?? Is there that many people in the surrounding areas to make this viable?

I told a friend of mine from Boise about it. His response was it won't last, local economy is too depressed. So we shall see.

I was more surprised with Eugene-HNL. Their numbers people must see something we don't.
