Any one that considers coming here needs to realize that baring an AMR merger the current, worst in the industry contract, will be here for a long time. The east thinks that the last court case was a win and they now have carte blanche to rewrite the seniority. That is simply not the case and our management's legal team knows it. That being said, there is going to be a lot of movement on the east and compared with most commuters LOA93 is probably an improvement. Not saying you shouldn't try for an interview or accept an offer, but look at it with eyes wide open.

A new US Airways pilot will receive reduced vacation and pay, but seniority movement is exponential.
New hires should not care about East/West infighting, but they should enjoy the seniority movement until pay/vacation is restored.
BTW, 1 week of vacation on reserve can be equated to two weeks off if bid properly. 1 week vacation as a line holder is still 1 week vacation.
US Airways is not GQ, but it is not a bad place to be GQpilot.

LOA 93 is the bankruptcy contract that pays East Airbus captains about $3 an hour more than a Brickyard captain.
Both contracts are way past due, but nothing will change for the foreseeable future due to the seniority integration failure.

An AA/LCC merger during or post BK would solve this issue in ~3 years.

Just a quick question for those with apps on file. Does Airways give a thanks, but no thanks email if you don't get selected, or is your app always "under review"? I know I am nowhere near the competitive mins for Airways but would like to know so I don't keep checking, or if I need to reapply when another window opens. Thanks.

Are they purposely calling only people who don't meet the minimums at other majors and can't leave to another job once hiring opens up?
