Default Any furloughed USAir regret not taking recall

I admit it. Sometimes it's tough to look over there at the amount of hiring they are doing, the number of retirements over the next decade, and the prospect of a career at AA and not feel a little regret for not having taken the recall when we got the "take it or leave it" back in 07.

Don't get me wrong, i'm happy where I am, and feel fortunate, but just wondering if i'm the only Monday morning quarterback?

(I was Jan 99 hire)

I'm in the same boat. Mixed feelings. I'm kind if kicking myself but the choices were a transcon commute or being an junior east pilot in west base. The same day that US Air called with a conditional job offer, Hawaiian called with an offer. Didn't want to sit sideways. Just have to move forward.

It's only natural to feel that way. You made your decision based on the information/situation at that time. Pilots with a decent job would be crazy to come back to the cesspool usapa created at usair, no contract no nothing ever. Heck I started to apply to Asian carriers the day doj blocked the merger, what does that tell you?

USAir has a cost problem - masked in recent years by their temporary huge labor cost advantage - that is inherent in their northeast core operation and has not gone away. It's all wine & roses now but sooner or later the chickens will come home to roost. Not saying they're doomed, but certainly vulnerable.
