ABX hires replacements with dozens furloughed
ABX is bringing on new hires while dozens of pilots are still out on furlough. Some of the real pilots have been with the company for more than 12 years and furloughed for the last 3 years.

With that said...How could ABX Hire New Hires if Furloughs are still on the street?......Are they union or not?.....Are these "New Hires" now considered Scabs?
Is there going to be backlash on them?

Being an Unemployed MD-11F Pilot...Someone told me about ABX Inc. Hiring about a month ago....I didn't apply and had no interest in ABX...

That said, this is truly bad juju. If ABX pilots are unionized and this is against the contract, it needs to be grieved (and probably is). If it's not a contract violation, then there is no leg to stand on. Don't blame the new-hires, blame management and/or a weak contract (if one even exists).

No, they're not scabs, not at all. A scab crosses a picket line when there is a strike. Let's not diminish the meaning of scab.

Those new hires are not scabs but they took those jobs knowing they were taking work away from furloughed pilots who had been out of work for 3 years. As far as I'm concerned that means they are low life scum and always will be.
