ABX hires replacements with dozens furloughed

Sheriff,
Throughout this entire thread you've posted on multiple occasions pi$$ing on the new guys. What the F do they have anything to do with any of this? "...replacement workers are enjoying work at ABX while...." This suggests they are somehow in the wrong.
If that's the case, what do you suggest they do?
Disclaimer - I am NOT at ABX but I do know pilots furloughed from other airlines that just got on recently. Good guys that don't have a dog in this fight. I understand your frustration but you need to lay off the new guys. That's classless and unproductive. Take the focus off these guys and direct it elsewhere.

Someone should post what the union is doing to make this right. Putting the newhires on the street should be their initial position. If they are that ineffectual, someone should be suing the union leaders. Maybe that would finally light a fire.
Pilots should actually research who they want to work for. Kinda easy in this day and age. Stupid not to.
Disclaimer - I'm not an idiot who can't understand right from wrong.

Yeah, recent hires are in the wrong. 5 managed to obtain a hall pass. This is new fangled union busting and they are contributing. The phrase "good guy" has become diluted with over use. Everyone is a good guy when times are easy. When the chips are down we find out what we're really made of. They may have once had someone's back but they aren't good guys any more. They've changed their focus.

I appreciate your wise comments.
I totally agree that it would be nice if we could post information about what the union is doing to make this right. Unfortunately, Nobody seems to know because the union will not even share information. They keep saying they are working the problem but they refuse to even share what their position is. It makes me wonder what they're hiding.

I just want to say to some here that disagree with some of my comments, such as TPApilot and Skymaster, that I appreciate your comments even though we might not agree on everything. I'm glad that you are reading my comments and I'm glad that you and me have this forum to share our ideas. Even though I might not agree with all your comments, I especially hope you will keep them coming.

Today is the 19th day that replacement workers are enjoying work at ABX while 2 dozen pilots remain furloughed and ready to return.
There is still no word from the Union about what they consider to be an acceptable solution(s) to this problem, if they do consider it to be a problem. They were supposed to lay it out a week ago but they keep stalling. Why is their position a big secret?

Instead of crying and worrying about a former employer (ABX) move on with your life. It's very obvious they care nothing about you and don't want you back on the property.

Not that it matters but, to set the record straight, I'm not furloughed at this time. I am fortunate enough to have a seniority number low enough that I have already been called back.
so, I guess your position is that the furloughed pilots should just move on because the company prefers to use replacement workers. Is that correct? What happens when the replacements have a year in so they can jump to second year pay? Should the company just furlough them and hire a new crop of replacements?

Where pray tell do us "wild dogs", "move on with our lives" to? Last I checked, I had a couple dozen resumes floating around cyber space and in various HR departments, but if you're not aware of the industry for the past 10+ years, its been kind of slow.
You're kidding...they don't care about us? What a revelation! In that case I'll just tell them to take their "rancid piece of meat" six figure job and shove it. Smart move in one of the worst economic chapters in the history of the industry. Yeah, that'll teach them. Not many real airlines hiring these days. I'll go to a 18K RJ job....oh wait, they won't touch us because they see we have "two" pending recalls.
Unlike Sheriff who tried to take the high road, most of us aren't too interested in what you have to say. You've done a good job discrediting yourself. I know hip hop is probably cooler with your friends, but someday take a listen to country radio. Brad Paisley has a song out called "So Much Cooler Online" or something to that effect. Sounds awfully appropriate for many of your bold posts under your anonymous screen name.
Keep on throwing out the flame bate. Its entertaining I suppose. Just remember to turn on that carburetor heat in your Skymaster. Or is that thing fuel injected? Oh yeah....I don't care.

I think anyone who works for a carrier or might someday want to work for a carrier has a dog in this fight.
If you are working someplace other than ABX, what do you think your boss will want to do when he finds out how easily Hete was able to hire replacement workers? Oh, you think it couldn't happen to you because you have a union and a contract? What do you think we thought?
also, if your company does any kind of ACMI work, they are probably competing for the same jobs that ABX is going after. If ABX is able to reduce costs by hiring replacement workers, they will have an unfair advantage over your company in getting the contracts. Do you think that's fair? The ABX EXCO seems to think it is.
