Interesting question. They seem to be set up more as a point to point operation vs. feed. Delta's deals with v. Atlantic and Australia would seem to make them superfluous. Delta definitely has the capability to easily replace them.

Stand by for more JV giveaways with DALPA's waterboys selling it as "good for us," as usual.

I'm just curious--in your opinion, has Delta ever done anything that was bad for its pilots?

My man, you have simply got to realize that the company's best interests and the pilots' best interests do not always align. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing for us (yet), but my gosh, you are spring loaded to the "thank you sir may I have another" position, and frankly, it's sickening.

Yes. They parked the freighter operation. Obviously there is no money in cargo planes, which is why just about every large foreign carrier has them. Including Emirates.
Now, your spring loaded "Delta sucks and is out to get us. Anyone who disagrees with me is a widget kool aid guzzler" attitude is sickening to me. So, in your opinion, has Delta ever done anything that was good for its pilots?

Although, Virgin America was trying to make Newark a bit of a hub to the West Coast, connecting with Virgin Atlantic there. I'd assume Delta's computers are expert enough not to let frequent flier miles accumulate on that sort of itinerary.
Virgin American's "capacity discipline" is, in my opinion, a sign of it's impending death. It has been on financial life support since inception and with a lack of growth comes increasing legacy costs. Increasing costs and stagnation will make the results even uglier.

This is what happens when RB loses interest in you.
Air Nigeria (originally Virgin Nigeria Airways, and then Nigerian Eagle Airlines), was the national flag carrier of Nigeria,[1] which operated scheduled regional and domestic passenger services. The airline, which effectively replaced the defunct Nigeria Airways, was founded in 2004 as a joint venture between Nigerian investors and the Virgin Group. Virgin withdrew from the business during 2008-2010, and, following two name changes, Air Nigeria ceased operations on 10 September 2012.[2]
