Let me key you in on a little secret. Unions and contracts evolve. When we negotiated code share and scope in a previous life we had no idea the extent it would grow. Pilots saw money, the airline saw potential.
Today, unions have learned from their mistake and trying their very best to reign in some of the scope and code sharing.
That is why we are fighting so hard at Jetblue to limit or even prevent this. We have learned from the mistakes of our peers.

You are not understanding my question. DL and AA have been union a loooong time. Why did they have to use negotiating capital now to get something you guys say they always have had? I mean, they are union, so they must have already had rock solid codeshare restrictions and they must not have had any current domestic or international codeshares right? I mean, they are union, so they must have already had control over the companies codesharing abilities right?
Either way, you seem to know everything already, so nothing more to be gained with this discussion.
And you are mischaracterizing my position on codesharing.
Just go ahead and educate me on the new contract that says we will not continue to codeshare with anyone, or sign any new codeshares after the day we sign our ALPA contract. You can show me that when the time comes.

A) They know the DR is fizzling and they're going to DEFCON 1
OR
B) Damage control is underway
That's interesting how bluepilots.com went down. Why is that? (Serious question because I'm not part of that board).
