I've had some wonderful experiences on US carriers both domestic and international. Not sure why you haven't had the same. Oh and I have had some crappy experiences on international carriers----Turkish Airlines has been the worst (even though many swear by them). Maybe it's you......

Maybe its me then. I was shouted at on my last flight on AA from San Jose when I had my camera out. Been flying since 1970 never seen a plane crash because someone was taking pictures out the window. Don't mind being told my camera was an electronic device, which I've carried with me for years, but did not like being shouted at.

By the way I complied. Dont want to upset an AA angry grand mother.

Especially the DINOs.
Who's that, the 5%ers? I'd rather sell crack than work for a middle east company.

Quote: I am not the least bit happy with our current fiscal situation either. I work for the government and I shake my head every day at the way my money is being spent and the ineptitude of our political leadership.

I do think you are wrong about the US due to some major fundamental differences. We have a strong native working class that actually has drive, determination, and produces things. Emeratis are mostly either wealthy or work in made up pretend government jobs that exist for the purpose of providing them with a paycheck and job security. They have to pay and house an unskilled workforce to do the jobs they don't want to do. They also pay through the nose to employ a skilled professional expat workforce to do the things they can't do.

In an economic collapse, I agree that the US is in for a rude awakening, but it won't be the end of life as we know it. We would rise from the ashes, probably stronger than before. I don't think the same thing can be said about Dubai, Qatar, and some of the other gulf states that are all spending lots of dough right now to fund their airline industries.

I honestly hope I am wrong as these countries provide valuable allies in that region and are, right now, the best examples of moderation in an extremely conservative religion and culture.
