American and US Airways crews need our help, and we should help them. Why? It will help the entire industry. Read on.

Just today Michigan joined the suit. We need to fight back against the political nonsense.
If this merger goes through pay for the 70,000+ US/AMR pilots, FAs, mechanics, etc will go up. What does this mean for Delta, United, Southwest, JetBlue, Frontier, ALL pilots? Higher average industry pay for your next round of negotiations. See: pattern bargaining.
Let's support our fellow industry workers with 30 seconds of our time to write to our Senators, Attorney Generals, Representatives.
If we flood their inboxes, we can put the pressure on them to get government's hands out of business.

I think everyone acknowledges that. Regardless, this is looking forward. This merger will help cement a solid foundation for the entire industry moving forward.

Well, it's the truth. Do you want an honest open discussion? Is everyone to just say "yes sir" and do what you are asking? I maintain that most pilots are self-centered in that they are self-serving. That's why pilots have voted in paycuts, taken concessions, and/or thrown an arbitration award out.
It is YOUR opinion the AA/US Airways merger is good. The East/West want this merger because it is their one shot to move on from their internal mess and get away from LOA 93 wages. And it seems based on APA releases that AA pilots want this merger because frankly Horton doesn't have a good standalone plan. And one would be delusional to think that everyone will be kept around at both AA and USAir after the merger synergies are realized. When DAL/NWA merged, MEM and CVG went goodbye. One from each airline. When AA/US Air merge you can bet at least one hub will be cut, along with the associated job losses. Not pilots, but think airport type jobs as cities close or get consolidated.
So no, I will not be writing to my Congressman about this merger going through. If it does, so be it and good luck. If not, life moves on. As for pattern bargaining, that's a lost cause when you realize that EVERY pilot group will vote for what they feel is best for them, regardless of what other pilot groups may be affected with. After all, as most vocal pilots say, other pilots and other airlines are not paying their mortgage and bills so they will do what is necessary to ensure their carrier survives.
That there is an opinion. Good luck on your quest for getting letters to Congressman for the merger. I wish you well. As for the other personal attacks, those are lame and lack substance.
