Default JetBlue pay question

Can anyone shed some light on this?

"Junior Assignment add'l pay is 40% of pilot's base rate"

What designates a junior assignment? Does that mean a first year Airbus FO would make $70/hr instead of the $50/hr shown?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. You will get an override of 40% of your base rate + your base rate for the assignment.

Its a pretty rare event.

Plus another 50% if you are over 78 credit hours for the month.

Why so? What is considered a junior assignment?

Is that extra 50% for all your hours for the month or just the hours over 78?

You get paid 150% (190% for junior assignments) for nearly any credit above 78 hours. That may change in our next agreement, we don't know yet.

BOS 190 or JFK 320 are the most common choices for new hires. Occasionally they will have JFK 190 or BOS 320 slots as well. Seniority in class goes by age (oldest gets first choice of base/equip)

I believe Chazz is asking what a Junior Assignment/Junior Manning (at other airlines) is, as he is new to airline lingo.

Junior Assigned/Junior Manned: Forced to work on a day off or after trip termination due to lack of available pilots (block/lineholder or Reserve). The company begins calling pilots at home and/or assigning pilots coming off trips in reverse seniority (hence the name) order when they were otherwise supposed to be off for the day. (subject to various differing stipulations at different airlines.)

- In other words, working when you weren't supposed to be at work or on reserve.
- This is the reason that nearly every Airline Pilot NEVER answers a phone call from the company on a day off (unless he wants to work)...they get voicemail and move on to the next guy.
