Nyc 330
Regarding a NYC 330 category: Right now a significant percentage of our NYC-Europe flying --(3 flights in the winter up to 9 in the summer) is flown by pilots based elsewhere. A 330 base would at least allow NYC-based pilots to fly NYC trips. For some guys, the commute wouldn't be worth it.

IF these are growth airplanes, and not funded via displacements, then I agree completely with you. |

The 330's got the best International trips out of ATL, I'll bet it would get the best destinations out of NYC as well.
When it was first announced it was coming to ATL they were calling it "The African Queen", turns out it's going to Europe and HNL quite a bit more than Africa! A lot of ATL 777 guys are talking about jumping on it if/when they move any more ATL 777 time to DTW, me included. Too bad DALPA pizzed away that great rest facility, that's about the only thing keeping me off it....for now. You would be a fool to trade in your cadillac rest facility for the pos rest seat next to the galley. I heard the DALPA A330 CROT guy intentionally "pizzed away" the rest facility just so guys like you wouldn't bid it. :D Trust me and take my unbiased "junior to you" opinion and stay on the 777. |
