Default Baltic news

Apparently a pilot course starts this or next week in Detroit. I figure Oscoda at Kalitta. Kalitta has the hybrid sim that is based on the ex NWA 74's he got. 8 freighters and two pax birds of which were sold/leased to Baltia?

This company has been 10+years in the making. Ex DAL CP I think.
With all the 744's now available I'm surprised Baltia will fly a "Classic"! And with 748i's not really being ordered, why not lease one of those. JFK-St. Petersburg-Bangkok or Phuket would be a great route. Lots of Russian tourists these days to Thailand.

An ex KLM combi 744 would be an idea for pax and cargo. Heard they are being parked shortly?

Baltia will struggle against the likes of Trans Aero and of course Aeroflot. Best of luck though.

Wish them luck. SU and UN fly to SVO. No one flies to LED, so maybe it will work for them who knows.

LED is the first destination. They believe there is a market being that it's a fairly large city in Eastern Europe. Also, I heard they were using 742s because they wanted an airplane on property to do training in and such and there were unknown FAA time delays. The 744 is too expensive to have sitting around not flying. Their plan is to transition to 744s when operations are underway. We'll see what happens.......

Why is this in the major section? It should be in career builder or start ups.

According to the mechanics in OSC it has...Q's. I was recently in OSC and the discussion got around to the Baltia bird sitting on the ramp.

Does Baltia have their FAA certification?
