I've heard as many merger/buyout rumors from my SWA buddies as I have folks at Delta. I won't go as far as saying that is the direction this is headed, but Alaska has a great deal that SWA would love to have (Hawaii). Wouldn't be the first time SWA has absorbed a major competitor of Delta's.

It's an emotional reaction. The word is from their employees that their work areas and lounges are peppered with anti DAL posters etc. it has made riding on the employee bus interesting to say the least.
So be it. It's just business. Decisions made at the upper level of management. Only they are apparently they are trying to incite their employees.
