Default US Airways first year

Trying to plan for first year at airways. Can anyone help me out with a few answers.

What is take home pay with family medical?

Does airways pay for parking pass at nonbase airports?

How much is family Medical?

Who is the 401k with?

Do 1st year get profit sharing?

How much more money is the 190 compared to the AB?

How many days off are a junior line on the 190?

How much are Crash Pads running in PHL?

I got a pretty good idea on what to expect first year for pay just trying to figure out how to survive with a family of 5. Thanks for any help

What is take home pay with family medical?
-Well, pay is $42.05 /hr for the E190, or $3000 /month for the AB, though I believe it is now a flat $40 /hr regardless of fleet. Medical-wise, it looks like the PPO 80 plan for a family comes out to $189.49 /month. MetLife Dental, for a family, looks to be $15.54 /month. I'm single, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. There are also PPO 90, PPO 100, and HSA plans. Vision, if needed, for a family are $10.98 /month.

Does airways pay for parking pass at nonbase airports?
-Yes, I believe you can fill out a form for reimbursement; but, I drive to PHL, so someone again correct me if I'm wrong.

How much is family Medical?
-PPO 80- $189.49 /month; PPO 90- $372.16 /month; PPO 100- $714.70 /month; HSA- $54.64 /month. Again, these are for full families. No children, no spouse, or variety of the above make it much cheaper.

Who is the 401k with?
-Fidelity; 16% automatic company contribution, regardless of personal contribution. All of us hired prior to 12/9 get 16% immediately. Not sure if they changed that for anyone starting after POR.

Do 1st year get profit sharing?
-Profit sharing is eliminated now in favor of new 401k. But, for example, in 2013, I started in December, and still got profit sharing.

How much more money is the 190 compared to the AB?
-You will hold a secondary line within 6 months or so on the E190...which means the ability to get above reserve guarantee of 76 hrs (short call) or 72 hrs (long call). Quicker quality of life, schedule-wise and money wise. After the year seat lock, you can bid any type of flying your heart desires with better pay.

How many days off are a junior line on the 190?
-For June, my secondary line has 15 days off...and 17 if you include finishing around 8 am after an all-nighter as a day off. I was hired in 12/13.

How much are Crash Pads running in PHL?
-I don't have one, but the average I've heard seems to be $200-$250.

***During training, you get an 85 hour guarantee, so that will eat up two quick months of low pay.

The company has been fantastic to me. Scheduling is a dream compared to anything at the regionals. I've been nice to them, and they've been great with me...moved days when I've needed them off, no questions asked.

The pilots here are fantastic. Everyone is easy to get along with, people are pleasant and down to earth, and excited for the future. Travel benefits are far better than most regionals.

The year will go fast... Any other questions, feel free to ask!

Company pays parking in domicile, or same amount toward off station... It's only $25 dollars in CLT and you have to file with receipts every month, and it takes a couple months for them to pay. It's the hardest $25 you will earn. (Not that I'm bitter about it.. )

The idiots that negotiated our contract gave up profit sharing (even though Parker told everyone this merger will increase revenues by over $1Billion.)

Added note, if you do request membership in the group make sure the admin reviewing your request can verify that you actually work for US Airways and are in fact a third lister.

Not true anymore.

With the MOU, parking out of domicile is paid (I think the max is $50/per month) in lieu of parking in base. I do believe, however, they will only reimburse six months at a time, so if you paid for a full year, you have to resubmit the expense paperwork again. For example, my parking was $480 per year where I park. The company paid me $240 when I submitted in Jan. When I resubmit, they'll pay me the other $240.

Good question.

335 is the number of new hires who are part of the group sharing problems, solutions, and news.

Good point. Oh, and I believe they are allowing people with US Airways class dates to join prior to employment.

People, read the bulletins, Parking is paid at the rate of your current base + $50 on top. So a CLT based pilot parking cost to company is $25...so if you chose to park in at your home airport its $25+$50= allotted $75 a month. Everything gets reimbursed right away depending on when you fill out the claim form! They will also pay for SIDA if your current airport requires you to have SIDA in order to obtain parking.

Medical insurance providers vary, it all depends on the state you live in, so name any big company and they are part of the chart, except who you can pick as your provider depends on the state you reside in.
