Andy, I don't work for FedEx. Do you really think everyone that's ever flown an airplane is breathlessly researching who's who there? I asked a question, you've answered it. As for hanging it up, I'd be interested in knowing how you can judge my capabilities based on posts on an internet forum. Don't you think it would be better to maintain some sort of civility, especially when you know nothing about the person you're talking to?

Bob Lavender is an FO at FedEx who refuses to join ALPA and gets a free ride.
Sheesh! Time for you to hang it up.

So what?? He is still a non-member free loader that stuffs peoples boxes full of unwanted $hit.

If it doesn't benefit him, he doesn't want any part of it. I bet he probably thinks honoring the picket line at CO was a mistake.

Nice misdirection attempt.

Jeez, he sounds like the average rank and file member.

No, I honor the majority. I don't quit if I have an issue, I take it through the channels, not to the streets.

You sound like part of the problem.

If when hired the retirement age was 60, then retire at 60. You old farts need to get out of my way. Your experience can be used in aviation areas other than wide body capt. Try flight instruction. What ???? It doesn't pay enough??

Surely you jest. The conditions of employment change all the time. Hiring minimums, for example. Hired today, you may need 250 tt to get a regional job. If things change, that could easily go to 1000tt. Does that mean the guys hired at 250tt should get fired?

You old farts need to get out of my way.
And so we reach the bottom line. You think you are owed a left seat. Just because you anticipated your upgrade prematurely doesn't mean you have a right to it. When the law changes (and it will) you'll get to yank gear another 5 years. Just be happy that you'll have the 5 years at the other end to compensate for it. Of course, the EU is now saying there is no reason why pilots can't fly until their '70s and beyond. Hopefully, you'll gain your God-given right to the left seat before ICAO makes that change.

What ???? It doesn't pay enough??
So the greed that drives you to lobby for taking the job from your seniors is good and their desire to stay is bad?

Just who's the hypocrite here?

How about we are all forced to retire at age 30. Now we would have all the motivation in the world to go out and make 10 times what we are now.
