Personal Electronic Security - VPNs?

Not airlines - - but I use VPN while on the road.
The why of it?Simply because many of the sites I access for work while on the road are behind the firewall. Schedules, Time and attendence, Reports, etc....

I also use a VPN when out of the country. More secure and I browse the internet like when I'm at home. I don't get redirected to odd international sites and I can access all the same websites I get state side.
Private Internet Access is a good and affordable VPN.

I always use a VPN! And I never use a free wifi unless I can confirm with the business or someone official that there is indeed a free wifi and that I have the correct network name. And I never ever connect to banking or retirement accounts using wifi. I also use a script blocker in the browser.

This. I also use Witopia. When you're out of the country, in addition to the added security, A VPN will allow you to access sites like Netflix and your cable TV provider, which normally can't be connected to outside the CONUS. Also gets you around any and all internet censorship issues in other countries. You surf like you're at home, and the local snoopers are none the wiser.
In the CONUS, it definitely provides added security in hotels, coffee shops, etc., anywhere someone might snoop on your personal info.
IoS (iPads and iPhones), as well as Android's OS make using a VPN with your tablet and phone a snap as well. Couldn't be easier.

I use Private Internet Access. They don't keep many records, and I can make it look like in the USA when I'm overseas. Some websites won't provide content if your IP geographic range is not in the USA.
