Where do I start? I am fine with the company knowing that some of us want 25% 10% 10%. And I have not lobbied for less. Anywhere. Ever. I have said that my personal minimum is 12%. Yours differs, and that's fine with me. All the blustering in the world is fine. Where the rubber meets the road is where things get interesting. How long are you willing to wait to get that 25%? THAT is the question young man. There is a time when the cost/benefit curves will cross, and the company will gladly give us that. You have to decide if waiting for those curves to cross will be financially smart. But that's right... TVM is a myth. So nevermind. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. When the TA comes out, I will evaluate it based on its' overall merits and then I will vote.
I have met people that couldn't care less about bottom end scope. Couldn't... care... less. And guess what. They are way junior to me. Just some perspective for you so that you know that this place is no barometer of the pilot group and neither is the doughnut survey. Condescending? Sorry if it comes across like that, but if you do not believe that management is putting together a battle plan using information supplied by blabbermouths from competing websites, then nothing I can say will change your mind. So let's support their continued providing of that information. good plan. I find it interesting that you find it "condescending". So if my posts bother you so much, you can feel free to do just as I have with PD. /ignore Works great, lasts long time. Life's a lot better. T, life would be a lot better here at APC if a select few posters, including yourself, stopped with the personal attacks. This place is starting to get as bad as chitchat currently is. Like I said, it's unbecoming and not a quality of one that is in your position. Instead of advancing the debate and generating new ideas, APC has sunk to the level of a troop of monkeys that fling poo at each other. APC has the propensity where it could be a legitimate quasi think tank spawning ideas that become resolutions that generate change. Example, posts by Gloopy, Bar, etc. As for your concerns about telegraphing our wants to management via a DPA survey. How exactly is that contributing to their battle plan. If the survey by TC shows the mean wanting 25-10-10, is that somehow going to be integral information for their said battle plan? Finally, like I mentioned in the previous post. If you couldn't care less about bottom end scope, that is fine and likely expected of one that is soon to retire. With a quickly closing window of time left on an airline career, I also understand the angst for a quick TVM single. I would imagine that if one wasn't going to see a premium wide body seat, that they too would embrace he idea of LBP like yourself. These are valid and particular wants that you and some others have. Now, form a coalition of like minded pilots and lobby for your desires. Make sure they also fill out their surveys, email and phone their reps, and get involved with the issues that they are passionate about. God knows, the other pilots are doing the same: getting organized and making their issues known. Thankfully this is occurring or we would be looking at CDOs now. |

You are correct. 20-5-5 is the consensus. Also increase in profit sharing is the overwhelming desire. That might be a stretch as we gave it away willingly. |

The logic for monitizing profit sharing was sound. The timing of doing it was horrible. Profit sharing should be under consideration in every contract negotiations. Every single one, because someday, DAL won't be making big money... I know, hard to believe... but at that point, we would rather have $$ instead of a potential bonus. |
