Plus, shooting a CAT 3 approach isn't heart surgery. You either line up one dot on another or, like with the Airbus, it lands itself. The pilots job is to simply retard the thrust levers when the plane tells you to. It's not hard. Shooting an ils in a 172 is far more difficult.

Bad news boys, the airplane does fly itself, we are there to make sure it does just that.
The airplane flies itself?

I think you just profiled yourself as a guy who'll never get hired at a major.

I haven't checked, but I got the impression he's a UCAL guy. Just because someone shouldn't get hired by a major, doesn't mean they won't get hired by some major.

I thought he was a Spirit guy. If he's UCAL, they whiffed on him. He sounds pretty bitter about his chosen profession....and I'm willing to bet he doesn't wear his hat.

Every FO should wear a hat so that they may salute their Captains properly.

Nothing looks more ridiculous than saluting without a hat on - unless it's saluting without a hat on with a cup of Starbucks in your saluting hand!

Until that 1000 RVR autoland on the Airbus fails at 60 feet and the plane dives at the runway... oooh wee did that get real sporty real quick!

How many bus drivers shoot ILSs in 172s? Kinda proves the point, doesn't it?

I think the bigger picture isn't about how your uniform looks but more of how you look. I've seen a lot of grossly overweight pilots walking around with a Wendy's bag and a supersized cup of diabetes but dang that uniform looks well pressed. Too bad the person wearing it is embarrassing! Just my take, flame on!
