From the comments below the video:
If all foreign H1B visa workers from China and India demanded the same salaries as U.S. workers, be hired full time, health insurance and 401k's all included would Silicon Valley still hire them?
Would Silicon Valley hire Indian and Chinese workers who all demanded to be in unions too? How about Silicon Valley unionize?

Some food for thought:
This entire country was founded by immigrants.
- The hardest working folks in this country by far IMO are immigrants. Note, I didn't just limit it to illegal immigrants, but immigrants in general.
- The general American population is lazy.
- Being undocumented actually lowers the payrates and working conditions. Giving them access to being legal, will allow them to report employers, stop living under the table, pay taxes, etc. This is really good for the economy in general.
- Obama has increased deportation since he's been in office, he's not welcoming illegals with open arms. Somehow people "forget" that. Mostly the repubs.
- His policy regarding immigrants with degrees, going to school here, is just plain common sense. Why kick out the best and brightest other countries have to offer, after training them?!? That is insane. That has been going on for years! We should offer anyone with an accredited 4-yr degree a path to citizenship, and those with higher levels of education an even faster path.

Unless you know and have seen every single American at work you can't say we are lazy. Yea you may see some at Walmart, corner panhandlers or just the usual who whine and moan about having to work...but generalizations themselves are just dumb. We know what employers can and cannot get away with here and I don't blame anyone who gives a company the bird and refuses to be part of the rat race system, but finds their own honorable means of making a living.
As for legalizing them helping their pay and everyone's overall pay situation...I'd like to see that..but they're accustomed to keeping their mouths shut and taking abuse, not making any waves so as to stay under the radar to get somewhere. The "man" wins against them every time because they're too afraid and accustomed to it. Maybe it would just take many years until they realize they're entitled to voice they're unhappiness. I hope the scumbags who hire and abuse humans are brought out into the light and shamed.
As for how I know...I was once an immigrant (adolescent), naturalized, have to painfully listen to my family members whine about the conditions they put up with and screaming with my inside voice "speak up!!! You have rights there are laws and you can make a change. " but they're used to just keeping their heads down... Now the younger generations, there's hope with them as to not being that apathetic.
Btw I mean no insult to you for your opinion for the generalization of the American worker; maybe you've seen much more than I.
Lets face it. The govt is going to use these people for votes, to bring cheap labor, help the scum bags and make money for others, all under the veil of helping humanity, nothing is what it seems when politicians are involved. I looked into the programmer's guild and that changed my views pretty well.

The WSJ and Reagan-era precedence suggest upward wage pressure:
Obama?s Immigration Plan Seen Affecting Wages, Job Moves - WSJ
By the time many of the workers under the 1986 law were legally naturalized in the early 1990s, they saw wage gains of between 5% and 16%, compared with what they would have earned without legal status, researchers have found.

I understand that you agree with the intent and the projected result of this. While I'd disagree with much of it (and agree with some of it) the way this is happening is radically unacceptable and sets a terrifying precedent. Imagine the next "W" with the power to write and enforce his own laws, ignore any law he wanted, and violate any law he wanted by making it legal. Somehow I doubt you'd be cool with that if you didn't like the result. This process is illegal (as the President admitted himself just a year or two ago) and wholly unacceptable, even if its 100% just and "good for America". We can't have dictators, even "benevolent" ones.
It is flat out shocking that a company that large has publicly supported something so blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, even if they like the result.
We better get a denyNAI out of this.

Dang right gloopy...those jumping for joy or turning their heads as a president does something he's not allowed to just because it benefits their cause are going to cry when the next (or current) president does it to pass something they DON'T want...whether good or bad we cannot let someone start this trend because down the line we will regret having set that precedent. We have a system and as much as it hurts to watch it not work at times, there is a reason to it and ensures order, or else it WOULD be a dictatorship where a person can just up and make themselves president for life! Lol
