Is it common for a brand new LW Stealth to have a lot of slop in the handle when it is extended and locked in place? Mine wiggles back and forth, doesn't feel very solid for a brand new bag that cost so much

Yes...normal. If you remove the 4 screws you'll see the distance from the stop and the lock. It's all good dude....enjoy the bag,

Baja.

Thumbs up

Well, thank you very much for all your replies. I did change my mind when I spoke with a colleague that had a Travelpro Flightcrew 4. I was unaware of the Flightcrew line which is older but well built.
I went with the Flightcrew4. $149 from Stopover…

Happy Holidays

I sold one of my bags after posting on this thread. I still have another one if anyone is interested. Used, asking for $50 plus shipping. PM me your email for pics. Thanks.

24 years of airline flying, 17 years of that commuting.....2 bags. Both LW.

Yes they are heavy, but that's because they are built like a tank. Can't beat the durability.

Luggage related, for those of you that fly for an outfit that uses tablets...what tablet/laptop bag do you use and why. I am looking to get one that will fit my MacBook Air 13" as well as company iPad. Tons of options out there, curious what is the "standard"

Good question Strato. I was thinking of picking up the Luggageworks Stealth Tote. Has anyone tried it?

Honestly, I would take it back. I had a travelpro. It is just not made to last especially if you commute. I bought the plastic frame luggage works bag this year for $199 and could not be happier.

Built like a tank, but not designed to survive the trip thru baggage-handling systems after the evil ticket counter people pry it away from you....

Yeah I looked at it on their website but it just doesn't have enough description or any reviews. I would think that a company selling luggage would at least provide pictures of the storage capacity of their bags... I keep reading good reviews of the Timbuk2 bags, but don't know if any pilots have experience with them.

Sadly I'm a bit of a conformist... just trying to find out what works best for our profession. I used to keep my laptop in my LW bag and carried everything else in my kit bag...but those days are gone.
