Those stories are true and it has happened multiple times. The way around it is bid a trip that doesn't touch base for the 3-4 days you will be gone. Or bid a trip that touches your home if you commute and make it effective once you hit the jetway. They want to leave you stranded, leave their jet stranded. Unprofessional and childish to treat guys like that.

I just heard about 2 new hires in sim together where 1 guy quit in the middle of sim cuz he went to class somewhere else and the other guy quit after he got his type since he was soon to start class somewhere else.

Any truth to this? Think, as a mgr would you want someone in your workspace who has one foot out the door, spouting off for the next 7 weeks over trips? Lastly, had a bud who left UAL for DAL last year (after 7mos with UAL) and he was pretty much told the same thing after he called the CP with two week notice. Abandoning someone from home is a bit harsh, but not expecting them to let you go is a bit unrealistic as well. JMHO |
